Privacy Policy
This policy explains what this site does — and does not — collect, how Google’s advertising and analytics cookies work here, and the choices you have. The short version: our tools never see your files, and the only tracking on the site comes from Google AdSense and Google Analytics, both of which you can control.
Effective date: 2 September 2026.
Who we are
VDH Help Hub (videodownloadhelper.world) is an independent, reader-supported guide to the Video DownloadHelper browser extension. We are not affiliated with the developer. For any privacy question, contact service@videodownloadhelper.world.
What we collect — and what we do not
- Nothing you type into our tools leaves your device. The MPD / DASH analyzer, M3U8 / HLS analyzer, Download Folder Finder and Troubleshooter run entirely in your browser. We never receive, store, upload or proxy the manifest text, playlist text or file paths you paste in.
- No accounts, and no forms that store personal data. We do not require sign-up. If you email us, we simply receive and read that email.
- Usage data via Google. Like most sites, we collect basic, aggregated analytics and serve ads through Google (detailed below).
Data sources for our content
The written guides draw on public sources — the extension’s official documentation and store listings, the questions people search, and hands-on testing — not on tracking you personally. Analytics data is aggregated and used only to understand which pages are useful.
Cookies and Google AdSense
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of its advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can control or opt out of personalised advertising at any time:
- Manage personalised ads in Google’s Ads Settings: https://www.google.com/settings/ads
- Opt out of personalised advertising across Google and other providers on the Digital Advertising Alliance’s choices page.
- Use your browser’s cookie settings to block or delete cookies generally.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (for example, which guides are read and for how long). It sets cookies that send usage information — such as pages visited, approximate region, and browser/device type — to Google, which processes it in the United States. This data is aggregated and used to improve the content, not to identify you. Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Analytics: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
How we use information
Any data we or our providers collect is used only to run and improve the site: to keep guides accurate, to understand which questions need better answers, and to display the advertising that funds the work. We do not sell your personal information.
Third parties
Because we do not control them, please note: Google (AdSense and Analytics) sets cookies as described; Cloudflare helps host and deliver the site; and links to the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons and Microsoft Edge Add-ons take you to third-party sites with their own privacy policies. This policy covers videodownloadhelper.world only.
Children
This site is a general software guide, is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if we add or remove a service — we will update this page and its effective date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
