Download audio (sound only) with Video DownloadHelper
Video DownloadHelper can capture audio streams on their own, and it also explains the “no sound” problem when video and audio are separate tracks.
SHORT ANSWERPick the audio-only stream when offered, or download and let the companion app merge. “Video with no audio” means the stream split audio into its own track.
Getting audio only
- Play the source so the extension detects its streams.
- Open the list and choose the audio-only entry (often labelled by bitrate/language) if present.
- Let the companion app finish the file.
“My video has no sound”
In adaptive streams (HLS/DASH), video and audio are often separate. If you grabbed only the video, re-run the source through the MPD analyzer to confirm an audio track exists, then download with the companion app so both are muxed.
Tip The M3U8 analyzer lists a playlist’s audio tracks so you can see what is available before downloading.
